If you are coming from JR Kyoto Station, you can take city bus route 9 to Kamihorikawa or the Karasuma Line to Kitaoji. (The bus stop at Kamihorikawa is closer.)

 

If you are coming from Hankyu Kyoto Kawaramachi Station, please take city bus route 37.
